WAREMBOURG STEALS THE SHOW AGAIN IN DEFI 2018 BONAIRE

After an amazing Defi Wind in Gruissan, Philippe Bru and his crew headed to the Island of Bonaire for some new adventures with the Défi Wind Caribbean. « The idea with the Défi Wind World Series is to bring our event, our knowhow and spirit to perfect spots around the world. Bonaire is definitely one of them. If somehow we can bring the Defi Wind to new people and allow local riders to feel the Defi Wind atmosphere. And on top of that if we can push Windsurfing in other area in the world it’s even better! » mentioned Philippe Bru.

With five long distance races under the belt and on four different courses, it has been another successful DEFI event. Nicolas Warembourg, winner of the 2018 Defi Wind Gruissan is also the winner of Defi Wind Bonaire.

Already on day one Nicolas Warembourg, armed with RS:Racing EVOX sails, won all three 12 km races today ahead of Ludo Jossin and Aron Etmon. All competitors enjoyed going full speed over warm waters. Smiles were on everyone’s faces all day long and especially for the numerous kids sailing alongside their heroes. After two days waiting the trade winds finally on the last day the magic happened again. With two bullets on the final day, Ludovic Jossin was fighting to take over the Defi crone, but Nicolas Warembourg stayed solid and is the overall winner of the 2018 Defi Wind Caribbean in Bonaire!
